SAFEGUARDING

SAFEGUARDING

A KINGDOM PRIORITY

By praying “Your Kingdom Come” we are asking for the world to be as it should be – a safe place for all God’s children to live. Ensuring that the church is a safe environment for everyone, especially children and vulnerable adults, is our first priority.

WHO TO TALK WITH

We have two safeguarding officers, who should be the first people you contact if you have any concerns or questions. See further down the page for other options.

Laura Seago

CODE OF PRACTICE AND STANDARDS

We follow the Church of England’s Code of Practice which you can view HERE.

You can see our national safeguarding standards HERE.

Everyone with a leadership ministry amongst children, young people or vulnerable adults is safely recruited including DBS checks, references and interviews.

We have adopted the Diocese of Coventry’s Safeguarding Policy which you can view HERE

IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS

If you have concerns regarding a child, young person or vulnerable adult, in any situation (e.g. at home, work, school, church), please contact any member of the safeguarding team via email or phone. Or contact the diocesan safeguarding office on 02476 521 345.

If a child or adult is in immediate danger of significant or serious harm, please remove yourself from any danger, then immediately contact the emergency services by calling 999. More information can be found at the diocese’s safeguarding page.

Any disclosure will be treated sensitively, however we have an obligation to pass on information when it relates to a child or adult who may be at risk of significant harm from others or by their own actions or if a crime has been or may be committed.
